Just love the winter houses from the holiday occasions catalog. What do you think? I'm still working on computer problems but hope to get them fixed soon. Have been busy planning a surprise 75th birthday party for my hubby on the 10th and just haven't gotten any new pics taken since the Quail chicks hatched. Haven't seen the quail family around- imagine they're around the neighborhood. Today's post is the birthday cake for the party. I must say that it was a surprise. Caught myself several times almost "spilling the beans'
UPDATE ON THE QUAIL: Mama Quail returned to the nest and is still sitting on it. Hopefully the "chicks
will hatch in a week or two. Will keep you posted.. In the meantime, Happy Stamping!

Found this in our carport- Quail eggs- the "mama" quail laid them in a coffee can that had "nuts & bolts" in it. We didn't realize that they were quail eggs till we spotted the mama quail sitting on them. Did some research to find out how long before they "hatch" and was told that it takes 21 days. Also was told to "fix" the nest by carefully taking out the eggs and placing them on a soft cloth while we dumped out the bolts and replaced them with dirt and sand and placed the eggs back in and tilted the container. We did that and placed the can back where it was. We were afraid that the "chicks" wouldn't be able to get out of the can if it was up right. Will keep you posted on when the chicks hatch. We just had a couple of dove's hatch and at first thought that the eggs might be doves but figured it out when we spotted the mama quail. Check back tomorrow for some cards. Keep Stamping!

These "packets" hold a 2014 mini catalog which will fit right into your purse. Base is 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 3" and 7".
The 3" piece has rounded corners and the mini calendar is attached just below the 3" score line. A 1" belly band slides around to keep it together and is decorated along with the front, I used Washi tape and the Petite Petal stamp and punch was used for the flowers. The candy dots were used for the flower centers. Hope you like it. Keep checking back for more! Happy Stamping!

Alittle different "take" on the inside of the card that I posted earlier. I'm still having some difficulty with being able to post more than 1 pic on a post- can't seem to figure out what to do. I especially like the scalloped trip on this one and hadn't used that punch in some time. One of my goals this year is to use every stamp and punch that I get. Like the baked brown sugar cs for this card. Hope you enjoy!
