"A little peek"

Just a little peek of some of the embellishments I made for my swaps for the Denver Regional on Septmeber 8th. How do you like the 2 different birds?  I'm not sure if I like the one with the Cherry Cobbler wing like the body or the silver one.  Do you have a favorite?  Am so excited to be attending.  Sure enjoyed attending Convention and am axious to see some of the friends I met there.  Will post the finished projects at a later date.  In the meantime, Happy Stamping!

Nature's Wonders

Aren't these beautiful creatures-   The pictures were taken from my living room window of these 2 deer in our front yard.  We have left the grass tall so they would have something to graze on and also to bed down at night in.  The house is about 50 feet away from this area.  They also are seen in the back and the side yard-  we don't have our property fenced in so they are free to roam.
This might be the same deer as the above picture-  I took some pictures of one standing in the trees and wasn't sure if it would show up in the picture but there were 2 of them. Check in tomorrow for a "peek" at some of my swaps I'm doing for the Denver Regional on Sept. 8th.  Till then, Happy Stamping!

More September class projects

These are the Halloween cards that we're going to be doing for a class inSeptember.  The 3 cards on the left I have had on my blog previously.  The feline with the googly eyes I "m casing from a convention swap I received from Susan Ehrhardt from Baltimore, MD.  Thanks, Susan for a great card to include in a class.  Am also planning an all occasion class for September. The open house was so much fun-  One of the ladies was introduced to the "world of Stamping"  It was great to show her what StampinUp has to offer and the variety of products available. It's fun to see their face when they complete a project.  More coming. . .  Happy Stamping!

Christmas tag class

This is one of the classes I offered for September- A set of 18 Christmas tags and box to store them in.  It really makes a difference to have the samples made of what the class will be.  In the past, I have only had a few things to show them what the class will be but had a great response with having the items on display.  I used to leave it up to the customer as to what they wanted to do but think I'll change that- sometimes you have to "lead" them into what they want to do. (lol) The baker's twine makes a great string to attach to the tag and I love the variety of colors it comes in. More coming.  Happy Stamping!

Open House

Had my Open House yesterday-  Decided to hang the flags we got at Convention on the wall so everyone would be sure to see them-  we're had rain for the past few days here and I didn't want them to get messy from the rain.
The three flags made a nice grouping on my wall- think I might leave them up for a while- great conversation piece for anyone who comes to visit.  The 3rd flag is shown below.  I was having so much fun with the open house that I forgot to take pictures of everyone doing the Make & Takes. Stop by tomorrow and you will see what we will be doing for the upcoming classes for September. Thanks for stopping. Happy Stamping!

This is one of the cards that I'm working on to swap-  Used the Frightening Feline and the Jolly Bingo Bits stamp sets
the Howlstooth and scarringbone DSP, the scallop circle and 1 1/4 circle  and  1/1/4 square punches, black and WW CS.  Used the sponge daubers to do the Halloween moon.  Used daffodil delight, pumpkin pie and not quite navy for the moon.  Hope you like it. Happy Stamping!

Birthday Card

This is the birthday card I did for our youngest son-  41 years young.  The idea was taken from a card that my SW demonstrator friend, Sue Brown showed me. She is so talented.  I used Pool Party for the cs- the insert is attached at the top where the candles are.  Cupcake Builder punch was used for the candles, The cake was 3 tiered CS covered with Comfort Cafe DSP Pool Party Baker's twine was used for the trim on the cake.  Petite Pennants Builder Punch was used to punch DSP for the front of the card.  Scallop Edge Border punch was also used. Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and the Big Shot was used-  I find that I'm using the Big Shot a lot. Don't know how I made cards before we had that. Off to make some more cards and to work on my swap cards for the Denver Regional in September.  Happy Stamping!

Open House make & take preview

This is one of the Make & takes that I'm planning for my open house this week.  This will be the 1st introduction to StampinUp for some of the attendees.  The idea was taken from the Stampin Success magazine and similar to a card that I received from my SW demonstratro friend, Karen Reid.   I used pool party  and wild Wasabi CS, natural linen thread, round scallop punch with the new piercer. I love the feel of the new piercer and really like the guard on the sharp point- a neat safety feature.  Also used the Big Shot with the houndstooth pattern. I'm looking forward to introducing my friends to the wonderful world of Stamping.

"Bear"day card

Needed a birthday card for a friend's daughter so I adapted a larger version of this card that I received many years ago from one of my SW stamper friends, Sue Brown.  I didn't bring all of my SU stuff with me to the mountains so had to adapt it somewhat but I'm pleased with how it turned out. Liked the way the Comfort Cafe DSP  worked for the ears, snout and eyelids and the "freehand" heart didn't turn out too bad either (lol)  Happy Stamping!

My version of 3 tiered card

I couldn't wait to make my version of Dawn O's triple layer card.  It really is very easy- she has a great tutorial on Stampin
Connection.  I used a stamp from the new Winter occasions incentive stamp set and one of my favorites Mixed Bunch stamp set.  I used Crumb cake and  Early Espresso ink and WW and Early Espresso CS. The petite pairs stamp set was the one I used for the saying. I never seem to have enough sympathy cards.  Hope you like it.  Happy Stamping!

Flower swap cards-Convention 2012

It's so great to see what different stampers do with the same stamp set. This stamp set, Pleasant Poppies was also the same set that I used and I love the way Stephanie Gibson from Groveport, Ohio presented them.  She also used the stamp set En Francais and used the Label Collection Framelits to showcase the poppies.
Another popular stamp set used for swaps was Field Flowers. I love the way Janet Smith from Santa Rosa, CA used the First Edition DSP in the background and the Dimensionals really make the flowers "pop" out. Very beautiful card. More coming. Happy Stamping!

More great swap cards from Convention

The top card  was done by Brenda Cash from Grove City, OH. The stamp set she used is Hostess Summer Afternoon and she did such a great job.  All the cards that I swapped for are from some very talented Stampers! Another card was made used the Praying Hands Stamp.  I intend to
CASE this card right away- It seems that I never have enough Sympathy cards.  It was done by Lorraine Duran from Whittier,CA.    More samples coming during the week.  Happy Stamping!
