The chicks hatched!!!

We counted 5 chicks in the can this morning. . . mama and papa were not around.  While we were looking one of the chicks jumped down onto a piece of "bubble wrap" we had put down for a softer landing for them.  We just checked the "nest" and all of the chicks that had hatched were gone.  There were 3 unhatched eggs still in the nest.. I think I spotted probably the papa near a century plant in the front yard.  So... out of 10 eggs there were probably 5 viable chicks.  Sure was glad that I got the pic of them..  What a miracle!!!

Quail Update

We've been patiently waiting for the quail eggs to hatch but so far nothing.  It should be soon, I'm thinking that they will hatch in about 6 days.  Hope that we don't miss it since the mama gets them out of the nest within 2 hours of hatching.  She has been sitting on the next almost non-stop for the last week.  In the meantime here is another card that my stamping friend Sue showed me.
It uses So very grateful stamp set and the butterfly punch.  Love this card.  Hope you do too!  Check back for more.  Happy Stamping!

Happy Monday, blogger friends

What a crisp, clean card and technique my stamping friend, Karen showed me.  The "trellis" on the left is made with the new Chevron punch .  The flowers are the new Petite Petal stamp and punch .  The leaves are the retiring little sizzlets and the embossing folder is the retiring square lattice.  Just love  how this card looks.  Thanks, Karen for sharing this "fun" technique using the Chevron Punch.

It's Wednesday, again, blogger friends

Thanks to Deb Valder, I got the inspiration to make these cute Easter chick-a-dees.  I used the Watercolor DSP. Daffodil yellow cs, Silver thread baker's twine, the Owl and 1  1/4" scalloped punch and the Boho blossum punch to make this cutie.  Used the DSP oln the chocolate nugget candy, onw of my favorites.  Tell me what you think?
Aren't they cute.

Happy Monday!

Love the card in a box.  Here are 2 of my versions.  I did not realize how many different measurements are out there for this card.  The card on the left is an inspiration from Ange Juda.  I really like  how she attached the balloons with the window sheets.  What a clever idea!   Flowers are another favorite of mine so just had to do onbe with lots of flowers.  I used Secret Garden stamp set and also the framelits.  I also used the retro DSP and the watercolor DSP.  Will be sad to see those papers go away when the new catalog comes out.  Hope you enjoy my creations.  The 3 ladies that I got different measurements are: Linda Creech, Ange Juda and Linda  Bauwin, all very talented ladies.  Thank you!!  Happy Stamping!

Front of "pop-up" Easter card

Front of pop-up Easter card.  Used secret garden stamp set and framelits and cut out area in the Watercolor DSP where I wanted to put  cut out flowers.  Used the natural ribbon- sure love that ribbon and also the natural chevron ribbon.  Have used both ribbons inter changeably.  Popped up the Happy Easter on dimensionals. . . a simple card front.  Hope you enjoy it.  Happy Stamping!

Another card as promised. . .

An Easter "pop-up" card.  First saw the idea on Stampin Connection.  I don't remember the  name of the demonstrator that had done a card with cut-out hearts.  Please let me know if it was you so that I can give you the proper credit for the idea for the card.  I used Eggstra spectacular  and secret garden stamp sets along with the secret garden framelits.  The DSP is from the new Occasions catalog. . .  Watercolor.  LOOVE that catalog.  To make the center of the 1st flower, I used a red scripto pen to color the rhinestone.  Will the front of the card next.  I still have not figured out what to do to be able to post more than 1 pic at a time.  Stop by soon to see the front.  In the meantime, Happy Stamping!

The chicks have hatched!!!

We're not sure all the eggs have hatched yet but we counted 5 chicks in the can this morning.  The mama and papa were not around and one of the chicks managed to jump out of the can onto a piece of bubble wrap below the can.  Sure hope the mama comes back.  We opnly counted 9 eggs yesterday when mama flew off so don't know what happened to the 10th egg.  We've had a couple of king snakes in the vicinity the past week so hope the chicks either stay in the can or the mama and papa get them to safety.  Tune in for more. . .

Happy Thursday, friends

As promised yesterday, here is a few cards that I've been doing in  my weekly classes.
Loved doing this Birthday card using the new Scalloped Tag Topper punch and the  stamp set from the new occasionals mini catalog, Springtime hello stamp set.  Used  designer from the Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack.  Such a bargain for so many designer papers.  Used the new Washi tape, too.  A pretty quick card to do.
UPDATE ON THE QUAIL:  Mama Quail returned to the nest and is still sitting on it.  Hopefully the "chicks
will hatch in a week or two.  Will keep you posted..   In the meantime,  Happy Stamping!

"Spring" is here

Found this in our carport-  Quail eggs-  the "mama" quail laid them in a coffee can that had "nuts & bolts" in it.  We didn't realize that they were quail eggs till we spotted the mama quail sitting on them.  Did some research to find out how long before they "hatch" and was told that it takes 21 days.  Also was told to "fix" the nest by carefully taking out the eggs and placing them on a soft cloth while we dumped out the bolts and replaced them with dirt and sand and placed the eggs back in and tilted the container.  We did that and placed the can back where it was.  We were afraid that the "chicks" wouldn't be able to get out of the can if it was up right.  Will keep you posted on when the chicks hatch.  We just had a couple of dove's hatch  and at first thought that the eggs might be doves but  figured it out when we spotted the mama quail.  Check back tomorrow for some cards.  Keep Stamping!

Another card as promised. . .

This is the inside of a "pop-up" Easter card that I did.  First saw the idea on Stampin/Connection I don't remember who the demonstrator was that had it on. . . but if it was you, please let me know so I can give you proper credit for the idea.  They had done a Valentine's card with lots of hearts.  I added the Easter Egg from the set Eggstra  Spectacular of the new Occasions Catalog.  Looove that catalog!.  I also used the Watercolor DSP and the stamp set and framelits, "Secret Garden.  Embellished  the center of one of the "starting" flowers with colored rhinestones.  I used a red scripto pen for that.  Hope you like it.  Will post the front of the card later since I still can't figure out how to post more than 1 photo at a time.  Till I see you again, Happy Stamping!

Another Thursday

This was a card that was inspired by my stamping friend Kendra.  Love how she had used the new Scallop embossing folder and the flower framelit.  Love the color combination also. . . what do you think?  I used the same design for the gals in my class on Wednesday.  More to come. . .   Happy Stamping!
