Almost the New Year

My version of the Mini bird house post-it-note holder.  Inspiration is from Kelly Gettelfinger's video found on Stampin Connection.  Once I made the first one,  I couldn't stop making them.  They will be great for hostess gifts for upcoming workshops.  The circle in the middle is supposed to be the "door-way" for the birdie to get into the house.  I think that I need to raise it above the DSP.  What do you think?  I think that the area above the DSP looks a little bare- maybe another butterfly?  More coming- check back.  With the holidays almost over, will try and post more- seems like December is filled with lots of activities.  Check out Kelley's video.  Happy Stamping!

Happy Saturday

Got the last(I think) Christmas cards finished and in the mail today-  CASED this one from a swap that I got at the Denver regional.  Was done by a gal from Aluquerque- Angela Muranda-Clark.    Knew that I probably wouldn't get the other one I was making done in time since it was embossed.  Love the "crispness" of this card.  This week has been so hectic- Dr's visits, baking, card making, packages sent .  I will finish up some baking this weekend.  Inside of the card below.  I love, love love this stamp- sorry it's a little blurry.   Will post some decorations tomorrow so check back.  In the meantime, Happy Stamping!

SW demonstrator Christmas potluck & gift exchanges

This ornament was made from. . . the Bigz lattice die- Isn't it gorgeous?

This ornament is as cute as it can be- Made using the "electric" tea lites- how clever. Demonstrators in the background are Kadie, Teresa, and Sue S.

Our annual December Christmas potluck held at the home of Mary Fish.  We had the main dishes catered from a local Mexican restaurant.  Yummy food.  We brought the dessert.  L to r are Sue Brown, Lucinda, Jane (in the red sweater), Linda Smith, and Mary Fish.   We exchanged items made with current StampinUp products- what unique, beautiful gifts we all received.

Christmas decorations

The decorations on the living room windows.Below is the front of the house with all the decorations.
December seems to just "fly by"  This year we put up real greenery on the front of our house.  The weather has been so warm thta I had to water it after we put it up and it stilll dried out some but I really love the "Christmasy"  look of greenery during the month.  Below is the view of our dining room window-added the "icicle" lights on that window. Hope you enjoy them.  Check tomorrow for more. . .   In the meantime Happy Stamping!

Finally. . .

I have been wanting to use this beautiful stamp set "Come to Bethlehem"  Love the gold  embossing powder and the Fancy Fan embossing folder. I adapted the Connie Stewart template  to make the proportions a little better for the set.
Inside of the card is below- very simple yet, I think elegant.  What do you think?  Happy Stamping!

Beautiful Arizona sunrise

This was the first peek of the sun coming up  the other day, Sunrises and sunsets are just gorgeous in Southern Arizona. Below is the sun coming up more . The beautiful colors are a little darker farther from the horizon .  It seems it only last a few minutes before the sum is completely up and the beautiful oranges and yellows have vanished.  Tomorrow. . .a preview of  our Christmas card that I finally have some time to make.  Check it out, then.  In the meantime, Happy Stamping!

Check this out . . .

CASED this gift card holder that  Linda from Stampingwithlinda.com did on StampinConnections .The Bells & Boughs stamp set was used with reinkers and Dazzling Details added to the reinker.  Embossed the image  using Wasabi EP and Early Espresso EP and then colored the image in using the mixture.  Did the evergreens with the Wild Wasabi to see how that would look.  Also did one just using the Early Espresso.  I liked both of them.  Hope that you can see the "sparkly"  on it.  These went very quick and look like a lot of time was spent doing it but it really went very quickly.  Back to decorating the house and putting up the Christmas tree. This year we put up real evergreen garlands outside . .  my hubby said that it would probably look like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree by the time Christmas rolls around- (lol) it's been over 70 degrees in Arizona everyday.  Have been watering it to try and keep it from drying out.  Do like the real greenery so much better than artificial but it probably isn't too practical , especially if  we decorate early in the month.  More to come . . .   Happy Stamping!

Partying today

We're off to a Birthday Party /Christmas Open House today and this is the card I created for my friend's husband.  I used the Connie Stewart template and the Stripes  embossing folder along with Create a Cupcake stamp set and A Fitting Occasion stamp set for the candles.  Trimmed it off with some Island Indigo Bakers twine. What do you think? I decorated the envelope with 3 candles to make a coordinating look.  More tomorrow. . .Happy Stamping!

December projects & cards

I can't believe that it is already December 1st.  Have been trying out new ideas for both 3-D projects and Christmas cards.  I have held Christmas card and Christmas gift classes but seems like I have neglected to make many cards for myself.  This cute little box I saw on Dawn Olschefske's blog and just had to make it.  I didn't have the Timber Stamping around wheel so improvised with the Music notes wheel.  Used the new Gumball green ribbon  and thought the red bird would look good to set off the music notes.   The Merry Christmas is from "Bells & Boughs" done in the new Primrose Petals ink. The card
below is using a technique I saw at the Denver Regional- I don't remember the name of the gal that did the demonstration but it is made from a napkin that has been dissassembled, fabric adhesive that is heated, heat & stick embossing powder, and uses dazzling diamonds glitter.  Needed a birthday card and thought that the Vintage Brad added just enough "bling".  I didn't want anything to detract from the beautiful napkin.  Hope you enjoy.  More to come tomorrow. . .  Happy Stamping!
