2012 Convention Swaps

Elaine de Montmorency from Victoria,BC  used "Bootiful Occasions" for her swap. Lucky Limeade is a great color combination along with Pumpkin Pie, WW, and Basic black.
Love this Halloween card that Rosalie Gochnour made for Convention-  I'm going to have to get this set "Bootiful Occasions" It's a very versatile set.  Halloween will be here before we know it. More tomorrow- thanks for stopping in.  Happy Stamping!

2012 Convention-Carrie Cudney

Carrie's presentation was packed full of good information- some of it has been out of my "confort zone" such as more postings on line- I'm doing better since I started my blog and getting more comfortable with the navigation of this on line stuff.  That's one of my goals by Sept 1st.  Am going to get the 'ole fishing pole out". Back tomorrow with more from convention. Happy Stamping!

2012 Convention -Shannon West

This is another "take" on the quilt pattern, Cathedral Window done by my new friend, Lauren. I love the addition of the blossom flower punch and the Razzleberry color button.
Loved the new "exercizes" that Shannon showed us-  I had learned them a while back during my nursing career but glad to get a refresher.  I love the costumes she chooses- she really just exudes fun and I love the saying" a smile is like tight underwear, it  makes your cheeks go up"  I'm going to remember that one, for sure.  Doesn't her costume just want to make you "party?"
More convention pictures coming.  Happy Stamping!

2012 Convention- Brian Pilling

Isn't this quilt card that Lauren did super? I love the bright, vibrant colors that she used in it.It is the Cathedral Window pattern. I did a pillow for my mother-in-law a while ago. I started out making a large quilt but realized that it would take me forever to complete it so I settled for a pillow. More to come tomorrow from convention.  The swaps were so nice and I can't wait to share them with you. Happy Stamping!

2012 Convention- Brian Pilling

What a GREAT convention- I can't wait to see what SU has in store for next year.  I liked the comparison of "Goldilocks" to StampinUp by Brian.  I'm going to aim to make my events "just right"  The time at Convention went by too fast. I made some wonderful new friends and want to introduce you to a new friend from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her name is Lauren Hope and she does marvelous cards. Lauren is on the right.

More Convention Card swaps

I decided to swap a 3-D card this year at convention so here it is. The design is one I found on Julie Davison's blog. I changed the dimensions a little because I thought for the stamp set I used it would look more in proportion. Stamp sets I used were: Toxic treats and Spooky Bingo bits. CS is River Rock, Tangerine Tango, WW, Vellum. DSP is the Howlstooth. The directions I used are: Tangerine Tango 4 1/4 x 10", score at 1", 2 1/2", 3 1/2", 5", 6 1/2", 7 1/2" and 9".At the 5" score line you cut from the 3/4" to 3 1/2". (This makes the center slot) for the card to poke through. Sticky Strip or SNAIL is used on both ends of the base. The middle piece "slips" through the open slot and attaches to both end pieces. The DSP was put on between the 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" score lines. I used the new Striped Satin Ribbon from the new Holiday catalog. The fence and crow are stamped on the Vellum. I stamped it just below the RIP that was stamped on the WW CS. Heading back home tomorrow after a WONDERFUL, EXCITING CONVENTION!  Looking Forward to next year's! Happy Stamping!

Another Convention swap card

This is a card that I love doing although it's a multiple step process.  Stamp set is Bordering on Romance
Used the Tea Shoppe stamp set for the saying.  The Adorning Accents Embossing Folder and the Adorning Accents Edgelits really got a work-out. I used the Blender Pen with Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade. I decided to also used the Perfect Polka dots embossing  folder on the center part of the card. I love the soft look of the Pool Party CS. The Pool Party Baker's twine was just the right width to finish the card off.  Hope you like it.  I've decided that I must look into getting a lap top so I can post Convention pictures on the spot-That's on my to-do list.  Till tomorrow, Happy Stamping!

Tuesday card share- Convention Countdown- 1 day

I'm heading to Utah this morning- Woohoo! Can't wait to get there.  This is one of my "swap" cards that I will be sharing with you.
Loved doing this " poppies"  swap card for Convention. Wanted to try something different for me- to use the daubers to color in the stems and flowers. Used Gumball Green for the stems and  Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple for the poppies. Backed it with River Rock and used the new Raspberry Ripple ribbon. The DSP is from the Comfort Cafe  series. Love the look of the scallop  and round punches to highlight part of the poppies. Be sure to check back tomorrow for a look at another "swap" card.  Happy Stamping!

Natures' Miracle

This is a picture that I was able to take out of my living room window yesterday-  I can't believe that I actually was able to snap this picture through the window.  There are 2 babies in the nest and the "Mama and"Papa" robin are taking such good care of them.  I don't know which one was feeding the chick.  It rained off and on yesterday and the " Mama" came back and sat on the nest protecting her "chicks".

Wednesday card share- Countdown to Convention- 7 days

Still working on some last minute Convention swaps so checked out some of the cards I had done some time back. I can't remember where I originally saw this idea, but if it was yours, please let me know so I can give you credit.  I really liked the design of this card, so sad that the brads were not carried on in the new SU catalog.  I wasn't sure if I liked the set, Bright blossoms when I first saw it but it sure "grows" on you.  It's amazing that until I see a card made with some of the sets, that I begin to see the possibilities with that particular stamp set.  The bottom card was just made with the Postage Stamp punch and the "Perfect Polka Dots" embossing folder.  Hope you enjoy the cards.  Happy Stamping!

Tuesday card share- Convention countdown 8 days

My friend "Mr. Brown" brought my SU pre-order today-  was so excited to get it that I had to make a quick Halloween card
with one of the new stamp sets offered in the new HOLIDAY CATALOG, available August1,2012-January 3,2013.  I just used 2 colors of cardstock, River Rock and Ivorys Natural and some of the new DSP. It's a pretty straight forward card.  The inside is below.  Hope you like it.  Am working on a few more Convention swaps.  Happy Stamping!
